Recognized by the City of Chicago
In a formal proclamation, Mayor Richard M. Daley declared February 24, 2004 as Entrepreneur Achievement Day in Chicago. The declaration honored the vital role that entrepreneurs like Phillip Paige played in growing Chicago’s economy through innovation, leadership, and job creation.
Acknowledged by the State of Illinois
Also on this occasion, Governor Rod Blagojevich extended his congratulations in an official letter recognizing Phillip's resilience, business acumen, and service. He praised the inductees for overcoming challenges and building businesses that contribute significantly to the prosperity of Illinois.
“I am proud that Illinois boasts so many dedicated individuals, such as yourselves, who contribute so greatly to the growth and well-being of our state.”
— Governor Rod Blagojevich
A Legacy That Lives On
This milestone was not just a personal honor for Phillip S. Paige—it was a reflection of the values instilled by his parents, Walter and Myrtle Paige, and the mission that inspired the founding of Paige Transportation in 1970: to help people first. That principle of service continues through the work of the Walter Paige Foundation today.
